The storytelling tradition gets the red carpet treatment when nine finalists compete for Canada’s top Calypso prize. Music lovers experience a unique expression that is delivered with humour, double entendre and wit. Song topics range from personal to political, social commentary to celebration – a reminder that Calypso heritage is a vital link between us and the African griot, the keeper of our history. This year’s show also features special guest Alex D Great – the reigning Calypso monarch of England.

Dr. Roz’s Healing Place 4th Annual FIT-A-THON will not only allow you to challenge your fitness, but through your pledges and donations, you will be providing support for women and children fleeing abuse.

Challenges for the day will include non-stop, high- energy aerobics, circuit work outs, strength training, cardio workouts, dance and yoga poses. This event will sure to be a fun-filled day for fitness enthusiast.

There is a tax-deductable registration fee of $45 for adults and $15 for students. All proceeds from the event will be used to fund programs and services for women and children fleeing abuse.
