DJ Lissa Monet is a force to be reckoned with. Dubbed “the go to girl” on the latest and exclusive she has fastly made a name for herself as a DJ, blogger, and expert in artist development as well as marketing and branding.

With a background in business and marketing, Lissa Monet began her career in the music industry in her mid-teens, connecting people to emerging talent such as Drake and Ryan Leslie through social networks such as MySpace and Facebook. She created mini-mixtapes and cultivated a following through her own personal blog lissamonet.com and became known as a taste maker.

Lissa Monet’s knack for noticing voids within industries was what defined her decision to become a DJ. The lack of female DJs in the Toronto social scene lead her to buy two turntables and a mixer. She began learning the art of mixing and wasted no time spinning at hot spots throughout Toronto. As her popularity grew through word of mouth, she began taking on clients such as: The Toronto Raptors, Rachel Roy, LeBron James, Drake, Sony Style and the LVMH Group.

From Scotland to Uganda, this winner of the 2009 and 2010 Stylus Female DJ of the Year Award has spun creative mixes the world over pleasing crowds with a blend of music from multiple genres. “Good music is good music, no matter what your genre preference” is her mandate and fans of her mixtapes can testify that she’s opened minds to artists of different genres. This influential figure currently has a mixtape with Those Girls Are Wild called 4 Beyonce a musical tribute that is available for download here.
