Fefe Dobson is on the move
Fefe Dobson made a brief stop at Canadian Music Week, and spoke to Swaymag.ca before her performance at the MTV building. CMW is a great event and allows her to see a lot of musicians that she knows that are up and coming.
For the 24 year-old, CMW is about “supporting good talent, Canadian talent.” Like many artists during CMW, she was busy doing interviews and hoping to see some “cool” live bands. She left for Europe on the weekend and will return for few days before leaving for her own cross Canada tour.
The Scarborough native, whose current hits include “Stuttering” and “Ghost” from the new album Joy, grew up in musical home with a variety of influences from R & B to pop to classic rock to country to grunge.
“My mom would play a lot of Bob Marley, Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam, Bee Gees, Phil Collins and a lot great songwriters, Lionel Richie, Marvin Gaye. My sister was going through a really rebellious time in her life, which was amazing for me, she’s older and was into Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, they still influence me. I’m into classic rock too,” she said.
You never who you’ll run into at Canadian Music Week.
