    Annual Kwanzaa Show
    Africentric Alternative School 1430 Sheppard Ave W Toronto, ON

    The African Canadian Heritage Association, AHEN and the Africentric School present their Annual Kwanzaa Show

    Time:1-5 pm

    Where: The Africentric Alternative School

    1430 Sheppard Ave W (Keele and Sheppard )

    Admission is FREE-

    (donations will be accepted at the door)

     

    The show will feature UJAMAA, the Kwanzaa principle of cooperative economics, as the main theme.

    You can expect the following:

    ·        Opening Libation

    ·        What is Kwanzaa and lighting of the seven candles

    ·        Interactive displays

    ·        African drumming

    ·        African marketplace

    ·        Kwanzaa feast – everyone will be invited to bring a dish to contribute to the Karamu

    ·        Stage performances by the ACHA students, aka Subliminal and Junior Burchall

    ·        Food collection for people in need

    ·        Raffle

    ·        Free admission for all, but you know the score – donations will be accepted to cover costs

    ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 10TH YOUNG PEOPLE’S THEATRE PRESENTS THE SECOND EDITION OF WORD UP!!! “Why I Write”

    The Spoken Word and Theatre Showcase Directed by Anne-Marie Woods; featuring: Aisha Farah, Samantha Goncalves, Marcus Lomboy, Noelle Nedrick, Shoolie, Cryztal Jay, Jesse Tyrell & Celeste M. Young with guest open mic poets Kyara Tetrault and Quentin Vercetty and Tetreault

    This show is rated PG 13 and is a must see for teens and adults alike as these young people have worked hard since September pouring their hearts out onto their journals and they cannot wait to share their thoughts and feelings with you live and direct in the YPT Studio. and best of all this show is only $5.00.

    Scott Marshall is highly sought-after for his skills within the jazz community, film and television world. In addition to recording Marshall has performed with a lengthy and diverse list of accomplished musicians including: Johnny Mathus, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Bobby Caldwell, Persian superstar Shadmehr Aghilli, Denzel Sinclaire, The Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, Hot Toddy, Bill Stevenson, Lyne Tremblay, Out of Order, and the Juno-winning big-band NOJO, not to mention Wynton Marsalis stopping by to sit in with his quartet.
