With 30 teams in the NHL and more than 41 players of colour on rosters this season, there’s more to the league than Calgary captain Jarome Iginla.
P.K. Subban, (Montreal Canadiens) and Dustin Byfuglien, (Chicago Blackhawks) were both integral to their teams during the Stanley Cup playoffs.
While Chris Stewart (Colorado Avalanche), Wayne Simmonds (Los Angeles Kings) and Kyle Okposo (New York Islanders) prove invaluable to their respective franchises.
Last year’s fourth overall pick in the draft, Evander Kane, shows promise for the Atlanta Thrashers and undrafted centre Emerson Etem is ranked eighth among top prospects for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
