Advice from the derm: “In their 30s, women may have concerns with skin tone,” says Dr. Alexis. “Dark discolouration can range from black spots to brown-black patches that can involve large areas of the face, called melasma.” A uniform glow comes from knowing which ingredients work. “Hydroquinone in different concentrations is the most commonly used product. Antioxidants such as vitamin C and E, as well as coffee berry and green tea polyphenols can also be helpful in reducing ‘age spots’. But an anti-aging regimen starts with sun protection,” she says.
