I am so thankful for this nomination, and it shows me that Canada does recognize those who work hard and aim to make a name for themselves. As a black woman I have always strived to succeed, because I know that the odds are against me. This nomination shows that hard work, motivation, drive and ambition yield success. It is because of all those factors that I have been able to get to where I am today. The fact that I received a nomination for Reggae Recording of the Year is also significant, because I have spent most of my years living in Toronto, the most multicultural city in the world.”
