This October Dr. Roz’s Healing Place wants you to remember that “abuse against women and children happens everyday, and it may happen closer than you think.” It’s the message tied to their slogan “Be Their Light” in connection with the promotion for their Victory Over Violence Gala happening Thursday night at This is London.

The first part of the evening begins with a VIP reception that includes a presentation awarding former residents with custom-made pieces of jewellery designed by Sally Han of Psalms 91:1. Executive Director Dr. Roz Roach will be honouring former residents of the Healing Place who have escaped domestic abuse, reinvented their lives, and become inspiring members of the community.

The evening will be hosted by comedian Jason Martin and will feature performances by singer Kim Davis and spoken word artist Victoria Grant. Guests will also enjoy a choice menu from Chef Olaf. Afterwards DJ P-Plus will host the after party from 9pm.

This evening was designed to create awareness against domestic violence and raise funds for Dr. Roz’s Healing Place, a centre for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. Funds will also go towards the upcoming DRHP project The Changa House, a centre for youth and youth-at-risk.

The VIP reception takes place 7pm-9pm ($100), and the after party takes place at 9pm onwards ($50).
