Divine Brown, Big Sugar and Rehan Dalal will join LCBO in a special concert to kick off the company’s annual whisky promotion, Whisky Rocks. The benefit concert and whisky tasting event takes place at The Mod Club on Thursday, October 20, with proceeds going to United Way member agency Dixon Hall and its music school program.

“I’m really excited to perform at Whisky Rocks! This will be an excellent chance to play some fresh songs from my up and coming album, Something Fresh,” Divine Brown said.

In addition to music performances, concertgoers will be treated to a sampling of four new whiskies and light hors d’oeuvres. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketbreak.com or at the door and attendees must be 19 years of age or older.

As part of the four-week, in-store promotion, LCBO locations will showcase 80 whiskies from Canada, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, India, Japan and the U.S., including collections of new award –winning products.

The ‘Whisky Rocks Online Music Competition’ returns, inviting solo artists and bands to arrange an original song and video set to lyrics written by former Big Wreck vocalist Ian Thornley. Contestants can enter videos online www.whiskyrocks.com until October 21. The lucky winner gets a full-day recording session with Thornley and his engineer Eric Ratz in the Vespa Studio.

“The music video competition is a great opportunity for new artists to share their talent, get recognition and learn from an outstanding performer like Ian Thornley,” said Brown.

Whisky Rocks runs until November 5.
