Another one for Canada!  Muay Thai champion Simon Marcus scored a gold medal at the SportAccord Combat Games in Beijing, China, on September 4.

The inaugural event showcased 13 martial arts and combat sports, both Olympic and non-Olympic.  1,500 top-ranked athletes, both male and female, from around the world fought for 136 gold medals in the eight-day competition.

Toronto native Marcus beat out athletes from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.

The 22-year-old trains at Siam No. 1 in Toronto, Canada’s first and largest Thai boxing school.
