    Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival
TIFF Bell Lightbox 350 King St. West Toronto, ON

Workman Arts Presents The 19th Annual Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival

Workman Arts (WA) is a not-for-profit multidisciplinary arts organization that supports individuals who receive mental health and addictions services in their artistic pursuits and promotes a greater understanding of mental health and addiction issues through various artistic media.

The Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival explores cinematic representations of mental health and addiction. Film and video programs are followed by post-screening panel discussions with people who receive mental health and addiction services, as well as writers, directors, actors, health care professionals and academics.

    Saturday, November 5, 1 p.m.

TIFF Bell Lightbox, Reitman Square, 330 King St. West. $10 or pay what you can at the door (suggested minimum of $2)

    Feature: Yelling to the Sky
Victoria Mahoney, USA, 2011, 95 min, Canadian Premiere, English

Seventeen year-old Sweetness O’Hara has very little to lose. Her family life is a mess; she can’t walk the streets of her neighbourhood without the threat of brutality; her high school’s hallways aren’t any safer, nor is her home, leaving her increasingly isolated and looking for escape.

Director Victoria Mahoney brought Yelling to the Sky to the Directors and Screenwriters Sundance Institute Labs and was named an Auerbach Fellow, Maryland Fellow, Annenberg Fellow, Cinereach Fellow and IFP Narrative Lab fellow

Actress Zoe Kravitz, plays Sweetness. Oscar-nominee Gabourey Sidibe (Precious) co-stars.

    Short: Collect Call
Christopher Mills, Canada, 2010, 5 min, English

A moody, multi-dimensional animation, Collect Call is a meditative short film that follows a young woman as she faces mortality, death, and her ultimate renewal.~ Part “goodbye lullaby,” part steampunk hallucination and part music video (Metric), director Christopher Mills pushes the aesthetic boundaries of the medium without sacrificing access to the underlying story.

    BOX OFFICE:

    Online: www.rendezvouswithmadness.com
    By phone: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. 416-599-TIFF (8433) / Toll free: 1-888-599-8433
In person: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. TIFF Bell Lightbox, Reitman Square 350 King St. West. Tickets may be purchased at the venue one hour before each screening, if available.
