    Global Cabaret Festival
Young Centre for the Performing Arts 55 Mill Street Toronto

The Global Cabaret Festival features Canada’s most dynamic and exciting performers for a weekend-long festival bursting with songs, stories and ideas.

The Festival consists of Featured Artist Concerts, six Album Series concerts and two original Theatrical Cabaret Performances. Returning this year to perform their greatest hits are two renowned songstresses, award-winners and Festival favourites, Jackie Richardson and Molly Johnson. New artists on the lineup include Toronto’s improvisational ensemble group The National Theatre of the World and celebrated cabaret artist Judith Lander.

New this year, the Album Series pays homage to six of the world’s most renowned recordings with live performances of classic albums: The Beatles’ Abbey Road; Neil Young’s After the Gold Rush; Paul Simon’s Graceland; Prince’s Purple Rain; Carole King’s Tapestry; and a Stan Rogers Songbook. Young Centre Resident Artists music direct each interpretive concert with a full ensemble of Festival artists and guest performers.

The Festival runs from Friday, October 28 to Sunday, October 30 and the full concert schedule will be available at globalcabaret.ca.
