This weekend the weather may have been bleak and chilly but the temperature inside the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel was hot with excitement for iModel Expo; the first and largest modelling convention in Canada. Whether you’re an aspiring or established model, you definitely wanted to be at this convention for its amazing networking opportunities.

All under the same roof were professional models, photographers, modelling agencies, makeup artists and designers. There were also free photoshoots and makeovers for models wishing to develop their portfolios.

“I wanted to create an event where aspiring or established models could come and network. In the future we hope to add seminars to the event, for women who want to get a foothold in this business,” said Craig Chung, convention organizer.

Models also expressed their excitement for the event, citing its importance for the industry as well as themselves. ” An event like this is very important. It gets us out there, and let’s people know that we want to be taken seriously,” said model Chima, just one of over 100 featured models, event goers would have spotted and had the chance to network with.

If you missed the event, no worries. Chung has plans to tour the expo across major cities in Canada. Stay tuned for more.
